Worm + Doormat + Water

I’ve always been fascinated by the behavior of worms on rainy days. They surface in parking lots, sidewalks and other spots coated with rain water.

This fellow caught my attention this morning as I made my way into Dakota Montessori School in Fargo, N.D. He was still working his way through a maze of treads and pebbles when I returned a bit later with a macro lens.

LOVE this picture. How fun. It makes me imagine a kids picture book with interesting photos like this. Nice work, Ann.

  2. Love your concept for a kids’ book. That could be a fun project. Hope to see you soon!

I love this photo, too. It reminds me of being a kid. The repetition of the pattern in contrast to the organic shape of the worm, the color relationships and of course man and nature… Hope he survived!

  4. Sorry to say that I can’t speak to the worm’s ultimate fate that day! It was alive and moving when I saw it last. Thanks for stopping by.
